What's in the name
Phileo is the love between friends. Storge is family. Eros is desire. All three run out, because all three depend on the other person holding up their end.
Agape is different. It is "a selfless, sacrificial, unconditional love that exemplifies the nature and character of God Himself." It does not run out because it does not start with us. It starts with Him. First John 4:8 says God is love, and agape is the word John used.
That is the love we try to give every person who walks through the door. Whether or not they ever come back.
Our mission
"AGAPE Christian Worship Center is a Christian institution dedicated to exalting Jesus Christ and the advancement of the great commission, committed to spread the gospel."
In practice that means Bible teaching that improves lives, a prayer life that grows, worship that is real, and a church that is a pillar in Victorville. Three words we hold ourselves to:
Give
Give yourself completely to God's Spirit.
Glorify
Glorify God with a life that bears fruit.
Grow
Grow in faith and in knowledge of Jesus Christ.
